The origin of the stables dates back as far as the stone-age, where evidence of settlements (and possibly horse domestication) have been unearthed. With a strong environmental ethos, we have nearby recycling facilities and an anaerobic digester. The hacking routes are as plentiful as they are beautiful. They roam through on site extensive bird conservation sites, the River Thames and local bridle paths.
Conveniently 10 minutes from the centre of Oxford, we are in close proximity to many of the Home Counties competition venues. We have thirty stables on the livery yard, accommodating everyone from native ponies to Grand Prix dressage horses. We are intensely proud of our magnificently large indoor arena. It has a Martin Collins wax surface, competition standard lighting and is mirrored at one end. We hold clinics and unaffiliated competitions on a regular basis. Jodie, our Livery Yard Manager is also our Trainer and Competition Rider. She started riding at the age of seven and has dedicated her life to the well-being and enjoyment of horses. Jodie has ridden and been placed at National level in Dressage on her self produced horses and currently competes at Intermediaire 1. She has also had much success show jumping, competing up to Foxhunter level, Jodie has been at Worton for over 15 years. We have been honoured to work with award-winning local partners for many years, developing strong, long-lasting relationships. We’ve written about them over here in our blog.
